The "Catch Up" Post

We are new to the blogging world, or at least I am. Perry has blogged before, but we wanted to make one for our growing family! Sort of like an online journal that we want to share with everyone :) So much has happened since Perry & I have been together I do not know how I will put it all in one post. I promise to try and keep it short and sweet.

Perry & I were married August 8, 2009 in the Columbia South Carolina Temple. It was one of the happiest days of our lives. We were married the day before Perry's birthday! (...I made sure he couldn't forget our wedding anniversary haha) We had our reception at the West Columbia Ward building. It was absolutely perfect. We decorated it ourselves with the help of family and friends. It was very laid back and fun :) I mean, we had BBQ and fried chicken, doesn't get much more laid back then that! We honeymooned on a carnival cruise to the western Caribbeans. It was so much fun!

Sooo a month after being happily married we were surprised with some exciting news. I had a stomach ache that I have never felt before...oh yeah, it was because I was PREGNANT! Apparently Heavenly Father thought we have had enough "alone time" together and we were ready to start a family :) We were very happy after the shock wore off! My pregnancy started out pretty rough. By the time I had my first ultrasound, I was sure I was at least 12 weeks...then I was informed I was only 8 weeks. I thought to myself "I have been so sick the past few months! How in the world was I only 8 weeks pregnant?!"...then came the even biggest surprise of all....TWINS! There were two little baby alien looking things just moving as fast as they could in my belly. I couldn't help but to cry. I loved them right then and my love for them has only grown. Again, apparently Heavenly Father knew something we didn't know...we were ready to have an "insta-family!" We will be a family of 4 before our 1 year wedding anniversary! And I wouldn't have it any other way!

I am now 19 weeks pregnant and feeling WONDERFUL. Seriously, it is like night and day once you hit that second trimester. I have heard everyone say it, but I did not believe it until I experienced it for myself. I am over all morning sickness and am in what I like to call the "eat and get fat" stage of my pregnancy! Its by far my favorite so far! Although, I did have some rough patches during this pregnancy. I have been in the hospital twice so far. Hopefully I will not have to got back until these babies are ready to make their debut to the world! Its been an exciting journey so far and I am constantly learning as I go. I think its safe to say Perry has learned a lot too! This time is also very special to me because my big sister is pregnant with me! I love that we get to go through this together. We are literally neck in neck with due dates...I wonder who will go first?! Our parents are seriously going from 0 to 3 grand babies in the same week! --I can not explain how much I love these two sweet, sweet spirits in my tummy even though I have not held them in my arms yet. Any sickness or pain I have gone through with this pregnancy I would do it over and over again to have them in my life. They are the light shining through what can seem to be the "dark/yuck" parts or pregnancy. I am truly blessed: Perry is the most wonderful person I could ask for to spend forever with. I am very grateful for him in my life and for the support he has given me. He is going to be an outstanding father. I love my Heavenly Father and am extremely thankful he has blessed me so much. I am right where I need to be :)

I hope this catches everyone up with what going on in mine and my new family's life! Remember, I'm new to the blogging world..so bear with me!

  1. I love it! I'm so glad I talked you into joining the Blog World. Heavenly Father knows you are 2 very strong, sweet, spiritual individuals that is why he gave you twins within the first year. Y'all are going to be the greatest parents. Can't wait to hear more.

  3. I love the blog because it allows me to see my daughter as a wife and soon to be mother. I love the pics since I am living so far away and just watching you and Perry as you grow together. I claim him as my son. I laugh when I ask for more pics in your free time and you told me "what free time?" Remember that phrase!
I thank God for being this opportunity to watch your family grow and who you are coming to be. Mom
